Our Story

Most luxury pieces never make it to market. They move privately — through wholesale relationships, personal collections, and auction houses that don't advertise. Getting to them requires being in the room.

We're in the room. But getting here took years.

The Years Before

Christopher went into banking because it was the practical thing to do. What was never practical to ignore was fashion — a genuine, lifelong love for the art of it. The construction of a garment. The way a designer's vision evolves across a decade. The difference between something well made and something truly considered. Years of buying fed that obsession, and years in finance sharpened something else: a precise understanding of value and what things are actually worth.

Christopher launched CBLUXNYC from his apartment desk in December 2022. What started as a test case quickly proved something real. When the opportunity came to take the leap and build something together, he and Kevin took it. They got married and went all in the same week. CBLUXNYC became The Vault NYC. Kevin named it. A vault is where the best things are kept.

The Education

The first thing they did was go to Tokyo. Not as a celebration — as an education. The Japanese market for luxury is the most developed in the world. The reverence for craft, the infrastructure around authentication, the standard applied to every single transaction — it set the bar for what The Vault would become. Christopher and Kevin came back knowing exactly what they were building and exactly what standard it had to meet. Every piece of knowledge from their previous careers — value, operations, relationships — got applied to a business they actually loved.

The Move

Changes in the world made a decision for them. Sustaining the level of access the business required meant sacrificing something real — the life they'd built full-time in New York. On March 1, 2025, they moved to Barcelona and opened the Manhattan warehouse the same day. Leaving New York was the hardest thing they'd done. Barcelona turned out to be the best decision they'd ever made.

The Access

Operating between New York and Europe opened direct relationships with wholesale partners, private collectors, and sourcing networks across Spain, France, and Italy — markets where extraordinary pieces surface quietly, price differently, and disappear fast. The pieces The Vault carries aren't available in multiples. There's no bulk order, no restock, no second chance. Each one is sourced individually — which is exactly why the pricing is what it is.

The Standard

Every item that comes through The Vault is personally evaluated and third-party authenticated before it's listed. Not reviewed by an algorithm. Not spot-checked by a warehouse team. Evaluated — hands on, every time.

If it doesn't pass, it doesn't go up.

How We Work

Christopher leads the business — direction, sourcing, and client relationships. Kevin runs the operation: the team, the logistics, the infrastructure behind every order. Together they've built something that moves with the efficiency of a business and the standards of a collector.
